About This Blog
This blog is a quiet attempt to share Japan’s culture and spirit with the world — through the eyes of someone who lives here. I studied Japanese culture at university, and as an ordinary citizen of today’s Japan, I carry a deep sense of pride in the beauty of this country.
Japan is a land where the seasons shift with grace, and where nature is woven into everyday life. Buddhism once traveled from India along the Silk Road, was refined in China, and then matured through the Japanese sensibility. Over time, it was absorbed into people’s hearts, shaping a culture deeply rooted in stillness and healing.
Through this blog, I hope to gently share those cultural landscapes and quiet moments — in English. From ancient Japan to the present day, I begin with two of my favorite themes: hot springs and winter illuminations.
